Local Climatic Effects on Colonisation and Extinction Drive Changes in Mountain Butterfly Communities

A new study authored by Mario Mingarro, published in Diversity and Distributions, shows that local climatic conditions influence the composition of butterfly communities. This study implies that the microclimate could be crucial for the persistence of species in KBAs identified as isolated, even if the regional temperature does not follow the same trend.
